Claudio Mortensen is a Brazilian-born Italian citizen currently living and working in Switzerland. His photographic work spans over twenty years and has evolved into a personal style inspired by philosophy and existential questions about the XXI century.
Photography remained a background in his professional life for many years through his studies in biomedical sciences, molecular and cell biology, biotechnology, and business until the end of his MFA, which led him into full-time fine art practice.
Life is a curious experience for me. Rather than seeing existence as obvious, I need explanations. I chose photography, after science, as the medium to seek answers.
